Obituary for Rose Chiappetta (Cantarano)

Rose Cantarano Chiappetta passed away peacefully on October 12, 2017. For 53 years she was the beloved wife of Orlando “Max” Chiappetta, who predeceased her. Rose was the mother of four children, Linda Hamilton (Don), Bob Chiappetta, Jean DiNatale, and Rita Thibault (Paul). She was also the cherished grandmother of eight grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Rose was born on November 21, 1921 to Ferdinand and Marietta Cantarano, one of three girls. She had a secretarial career with Nestle before “retiring” to raise her family. In her retirement years, Rose enjoyed volunteering at St. Catherine of Siena Rectory and Hill House Senior Residence. She and Max enjoyed traveling and as a couple were very accomplished dancers. Above all else, Rose loved her family and built a beautiful life around them. She treated all who entered her home as family, offering humor, support and, whether necessary or not, food on the table and dessert “under the dome”. Rose was a kind and loving person whose greatest joy was cooking and baking for her family and friends. Her greatest passion was her role as wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend.
Rose had unwavering courage and strength as well as a strong faith throughout her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Family and friends are welcome to celebrate Rose’s life at a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Saturday, October 14 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Catherine of Siena Church or Hill House Senior Residence. To leave an online condolence please visit www.castiglionefh.Com
