Obituary for Emily Kaitlyn Lozina

Emily Kaitlyn Lozina
Emily Kaitlyn Lozina

Surrounded by the love of her family in her home, Emily lost her hard fought battle with Spinal Muscular Atrophy on Friday December 18, 2015. She was 4 ½ years old.
Emily was lovingly welcomed into the world on February 11, 2011, in Mt. Kisco, New York. Like many children her age, Emily enjoyed playing with her big brother, reading stories, watching tv, interacting with other people, playdates and outings, and was especially fond of attending school. She was a Pre School student at Parkway Elementary School in Greenwich.
Emily touched many lives and will be tremendously missed. In addition to her family and friends, Emily had an enormous loving team of nurses, doctors, therapists and teachers who all helped care for her. Her family takes comfort in the amazing 4 ½ years they had together despite Emily having Spinal Muscular Atrophy type1, where many children with that diagnosis do not survive to their 2nd birthday.
Emily is survived by her parents Kresimir and Jennifer Lozina and big brother Christopher. Grandparents Mira Lozina, Peter and Carroll Sivco, Lynda and Thomas Doerr. Aunts and Uncles Amy and Sean, Laurette and Robert, Rene and Timothy, Roddy, Angie and Robert, Kathy and Igor. Emily has 11 cousins, Madelyn, Aidan, Antea, Ava, Ivo, Dylan, Jack, Sadie, Luke , Miana and Matej. Emily is predeceased by her grandfathers, John Sander and Ante Lozina.
