Obituary for Joseph Anthony Zampino

Joseph Anthony Zampino
Joseph A. Zampino, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, departed this life peacefully in his home on July 5, 2018, at age 97. He faced all the challenges in his life, including his illness, with optimism and determination.
Joe was born and raised in New York City, spending his childhood living in Washington Heights. At the age of 21, he enlisted in the United States Army, Air Force and proudly served our country during WWII in the South Pacific. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he went to work at Electrolux where he spent his career focused on manufacturing productivity.
He was a proud man with many hobbies including woodworking, gardening, and working on the house he built for his family in Cos Cob. He enjoyed a long and active retirement traveling the country and spending time with his family.
He is survived by the love of his life, Mary DeBartolo Zampino. He also leaves his children Joseph Jr (Ellen) of Salisbury NH, Jean (Stephen) Maguire of Huntington CT, his son-in-law Art Bresh of Stratford. He is survived by 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Barbara Bresh.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life at a Memorial Mass at St Agnes Church, 247 Stanwich Road Greenwich, CT on July 14th, at 11AM, followed by Military Honors.
